The poem ‘Uski Kahani’ by Aashi Manohar was presented at Natarani
last night by Rina Jain who danced to the outstanding musical composition.
It was a profound experience to watch the performance of the excellent
poem set to music. Rina brought at all the nuances of a woman’s
journey through life. Aashi Manohar speaks to us of the woman experiences
in a society dominated by men. With his words he empowers women to change
their lives and to take their rightful place in the society. The poem
is powerful and Rina gives it life in her dancing.

Created by Aashi Manohar, Uski Kahani is a dramatic poem that talks about
the versatility of a woman's identity. The various hues and shades of
a woman's life, her struggles, her happiness & the elements in nature
and society that test her at every step in life are depicted in the drama.
Performed by Reena Jain, her powerful dance & expression tell the
tale of how for centuries, women have been an issue in a male dominated
society. Numerous discussions have tried to determine her position but
in the end, after all efforts are futile, it is only by her own determination
that she is able to establish herself and ignite her consciousness to
the glorious heights of self fulfillment.

Uski Kahani,
a dramatic poem on the theme of woman's identity, depicts the various hues
and shades of woman's life. For centuries together, woman has been a significant
issue in man's world. Discussions, debates, workshops and summits have debated
her position in society. Yet, all such efforts boil down to one basic concept:
that woman has to empower herself by her own determination and courage.
She fails to understand that she is nature's most exceptional creation.
To establish herself, she needs to ignite her consciousness and scale the
glorious heights of self-fulfillment.

Mrs.
Reena Jain, a danseuse of global repute has rendered the poem in a very
powerful dance drama. Dr. Papiya Das Gupta's dynamic rendition of the
poem has empowered Reena Jain's dramatic presentation. Anup Joshi's artistic
design of light and sound has further enriched the performance.

Ashi
Manohar, the creator of Uski Kahani is a writer of great acclaim. His
main forte is women's empowerment. Women can establish their true identity
only by self-empowerment is ultimate belief.
